REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MINUTES

PRESENT:           Samuel Allen, Mayor

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

INVOCATION

Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the October meeting Councilman Barton made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from August meeting. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

 Vote to renew the line of credit with North Georgia Bank

Councilman Barton made a motion to renew the line of credit ($150,000). Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

Ingle House Appraisal

Councilwoman Adams presented the appraisal and suggested we put it on the market for sale. Attorney Robert Noble advised he will research the requirements for selling city property and will report back to the council at the January meeting.

Christmas Fruit Baskets

It was decided to distribute 30 baskets this year. Mr. Pruitt offered to make the basket for the town at cost. Councilman Wyatt will meet with Mr. Pruitt with the list and have them made for the week before Christmas.

Donation from Marisa Rutledge

Marisa has offered to donate a Gone with the Wind collectible to go with the civil war relics that we purchased. She would like a plaque to be placed on the case with James and Mary Rutledge names on it. Councilman Wyatt made a motion to accept the donation. Councilman Barton seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed

Re-Model the Community Room

Councilman Wyatt advised we want to repaint and replace the carpet in the community room. We are not renting the community room during January to allow time to do the remodel. He will get quotes for the work and set a date to do the work.

UPDATES

LMIG Money

Councilwoman Adams gave an update on what the money is being used for. Walker Street has been ditched and repaved. We have $3,000 left that will be spent on new signs for the town. We will be applying for another grant for 2018.

Pruitt’s Fruit Stand

Mr. Pruitt presented a picture of what he wants to put on top of his building as a land mark and ask what steps he needed to take next to be approved by the Town of Resaca. Attorney Robert Noble is going to research the ordinance and let him know if he will need a variance or not to proceed.

Maintenance Supervisor Randy Wheat reminded everyone that Santa Claus will be at the Old Fire Department Friday night from 6-8. Everyone is welcome.

ROAD AND STREETS

Councilman Wyatt reported not problems.

Sheriff’s Report

Deputy Jones gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.

LIGHTS

Councilwoman Adams report no light problems at this time.

RECREATION

Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Maintenance Supervisor gave a report. He will be getting all equipment winter ready.

ADJOURMENT

Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Barton made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
