CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
AMEND THE AGENDA
Attorney Bowen pointed out that the agenda needed amending: Mayor Allen ask for a motion to amend the agenda to correct Variance on Zoning to vote on Text Amendment of the Zoning Ordinance. Councilman Austin made the motion. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
MINUTES
Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the June meeting Councilman Austin made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from June meeting. Councilwoman Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Austin seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Approve the Text Amendment on the Zoning Ordinance. Councilman Austin made a motion to approve the Text Amendment on the Zoning Ordinance. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
Renew Trash Contract with Mauldins Trash Service
The Clerk report the contract price is the same and there are no changes to the contract. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to renew the contract. Councilman Austin seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
Approve the 2018-2019 Amended Budget.
Mayor Allen asked for a motion to approve the 2018-2019 Amended Budget. Councilman Austin made a motion to approve the budget. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
UPDATES
Attorney Bowen brought before the Mayor and Council a Bond Resolution for the USDA to validate the Bond for the Sewer Project. Councilman Austin made a motion to accept the Resolution. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
ROAD AND STREETS
No new issues with roads or streets.
Sheriff’s Report
Lt Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.
LIGHTS
Maintenance reported that 1 light near the lunchroom is still flashing and needs repair. Councilwoman Adams will turn it in.
RECREATION
Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Nothing new to report.
ADJOURMENT
Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
