CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

 

INVOCATION

Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

 

MINUTES

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the March meeting. Councilmember Talley made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the March meeting. Councilmember Keese made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilmember Talley seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

 

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

No new business.

 

 

UPDATES & UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

Amendment to Town Zoning Ordinance and readoption of zoning map.

Attorney Bowen made it clear that the council will only vote on amendment for the zoning ordinance as discussed in the public hearing.  The updated map is not available but can be approved later. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the amendment of the town zoning ordinance. Councilmember Talley made the motion. Councilmember Keese seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

 

 

SHERIFF’S DEPT

Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for March. The report is attached to minutes.

 

RECREATION

Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

 

ROADS AND STREETS

City roads and boundaries were discussed. Hwy 41 is a state road that has issues. Mayor Nathan Wyatt reports Gordon Co. will start repaving of Defoor Drive, Baker Street, in front of Resaca Baptist.

 

LIGHTS

Councilmember Talley reports no problems in North Pointe. Councilmember Keese reports lights have been repaired since the last meeting.

 

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Councilmember Talley reports on general maintenance and duties. The cemetery will need to be cleaned up before the Battle of Resaca in May.

 

FROM THE FLOOR

Chad Steward spoke on the county Splost and LOST revenue, budget meetings, projects completed, and future projects.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting.  Councilmember Rutledge made the motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All in favor.  Motion passed.
