CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the April meeting Councilman Wyatt made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Austin seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from April meeting. Councilman Wyatt made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Ingle House Bid
Councilwoman Adams made motion to reject all bids on the Ingle House and re-issue with an opening bid of $200,000. Attorney Brandon Bowen set the new bid opening date on November 13, 2018. Randy Keese was in attendance and ask to speak. He suggested listing the Ingle House with a real estate agent to try to attract more buyers and a higher bid. Attorney Bowen advise that would be a good idea. The Mayor and council agreed to have Attorney Bowen contact a real estate agency. He also suggested that the minimum bid would have to be raise to cover the commission of the real estate agent. Further discussion will be covered at the September meeting.
UPDATES
GEFA/Sewer Project – Attorney Bowen asked for approval on the USDA/GEFA resolution. Councilman Wyatt made the motion to approve the resolution. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed. Nothing new on the sewer update.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
ROAD AND STREETS
Councilman Austin reported no problems.
Sheriff’s Report
Lt. Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.
LIGHTS
Councilwoman Adams reported no new light problems.
RECREATION
Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Councilman Wyatt gave the report. There was a water leak in the courtroom restroom. It has been taken care of.
ADJOURMENT
Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Wyatt made a motion to close the meeting. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
