CALL TO ORDER
Councilman Nathan Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Councilman Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
MINUTES
Councilman Wyatt ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the July 12, 2016 meeting Councilwoman Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Public Safety Appreciation Lunch –
Councilman Wyatt announced that we wanted to do a Public Safety Appreciation Cookout. Councilman Barton said that we will include all public safety including Officers, fire dept., EMS and 911. It will be held on September 10, 2016. We are getting prices to compare. Councilman Wyatt ask for a motion to approve the cookout. Councilman Barton made the motion to have the cookout on September 10, 2016. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
UPDATES
Easements
Councilman Wyatt announced that we are making progress with completing the easements. He also announced that we will be having a meeting about the fall festival on September 6th at 6pm.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
ROAD AND STREETS
Councilman Wyatt gave a report on sidewalks being repaired. They were fixed today and the price was 200.00 for labor. Councilwoman Adams has the state working on the area at Ramona Browns on 136, they will finish it Thursday.
SHERIFF’S REPORT
Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.
LIGHTS
All lights have been replaced. The 3 lights that were still out have been replaced. One at the Church and on Church Street.
RECREATION
Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached. Randy repaired the broken basketball but we have another one that will have to be replaced. Councilman Wyatt asked for a motion to get the basketball goal repaired. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to get the goals fixed. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
