CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

INVOCATION

Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the October meeting Councilman Wyatt made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from August meeting. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

 Rail Road Crossing Problem

Brant Talley spoke to the people regarding the rail road crossing being blocked and who he has spoken to in the past about this problem. He also stated that he would be willing to look for his contact number for the CSX Customer Representative and forward it to the people to see if they have any luck contacting her and getting her to meet at Town Hall about the ongoing problem.

Alcohol License Renewals for 2018

Renewals were submitted by USA Food Group, ASU Food Mart Inc, Resaca Stop N Go and Resaca Grocery. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the submitted Renewals for 2018. Councilman Wyatt made the motion to approve the Renewals. Councilman Barton seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

Christmas Fruit Baskets

It was decided to distribute 30 baskets this year. Mr. Pruitt offered to make the basket for the town at cost. Councilman Wyatt will meet with Mr. Pruitt with the list and have them made for the week before Christmas.

UPDATES

Gone With The Wind Donation

Councilwoman Adams advised the Council that Marisa Rutledge would like for us to come pick up the donation as soon as possible. It was decided that Randy Wheat will go and pick it up this week.

Pruitt’s Fruit Stand

Mr Pruitt advised the Council that he is still working on the design of the project for the Peach and will give them an update when available.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

ROAD AND STREETS

Councilman Wyatt gave a report that the County has finished the work we contracted them to do for us.

Sheriff’s Report

Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.

LIGHTS

Councilwoman Adams report no light problems at this time.

RECREATION

Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Maintenance Supervisor gave a report. He also ask what they would like to do with the piece of gym equipment that is not working and is in the hall way. It was decided its best to just dispose of it.

ADJOURMENT

Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Barton made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
