CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Allen called the meeting of the Resaca City Council to order.
INVOCATION
Mayor Allen asked Councilman Talley to lead the group in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
MINUTES
Councilman Talley made the motion to waive the reading of the minutes for the December 9th, 2014 meeting and December 22nd special called meeting . Councilman Barton seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Councilman Talley made the motion to adopt the minutes as read. Councilman Barton seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Approve Qualifying Fees for upcoming Election –
Mayor Pro Tem Reed made a motion to keep the qualifying fees the same at 75.60 for Council Member and Mayor at 147.60. Councilwoman Makonis seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously. The Clerk will run the ad in the Calhoun Times
UPDATES
HVAC and Plumbing on the Ingle House
Mayor Pro Tem Reed gave update on the HVAC and Plumbing on the Ingle House. The work is 100% complete at this time and Michael Brown is awaiting affidavits from the contractors showing that all subs and equipment have been paid for. He will send final payment for the Mayor and Council to approve.
Exterior Repairs on the Ingle House
Michael Brown is waiting on 2-3 items from Chris Taylor to put into the contract and should have the contract competed by the weekend.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
Sheriff’s Report
Deputy Jones gave the Sheriff’s Office Report – copy attached to minutes.
ROAD AND STREETS
Nothing to report.
ORDINANCE OFFICER REPORT
Ordinance Officer was not present
LIGHTS
Nothing to report.
RECREATION
Councilman Talley gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
MAINTENANCE
Nothing to report. Mayor Allen ask Councilman Barton to get with Maintenance and check on the purchase of the pressure washer that has been approved.
GENERAL DISCUSSION
Mayor Pro Tem Reed asked that the clerk have available at the next work session, a copy of the budget to be looked at for revision. Mayor Pro Tem Reed announced the Chamber banquet will be on January 29th at 7pm. The next work session was set for January 27th. We will have work sessions before each council meeting at 6pm on the second Tuesday of each month and a work session 2 weeks after each Council meeting on Tuesday. January’s payment for the Sheriff Office contract was discussed and it was decided that we will pay it out of the General Fund Account.
ADJOURMENT
Councilman Talley made the motion to adjourn the council meeting. Councilwoman Makonis seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
