REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

 MINUTES

PRESENT:    Samuel Allen, Mayor

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

INVOCATION

Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the June meeting Councilwoman Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from April meeting. Councilwoman Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

Ingle House Bid Opening –  Attorney Brandon Bowen opened the bids. The first bid was for 125,000 and was submitted by Ernie Smith. The second bid was for 175,000 and was from Kevin Smith. The Mayor and council will announce if either or any bid was accepted at the August meeting.

Attorney Bowen said there are no new updates on the GEFA Loan and everything is going as discussed at the June meeting.

Councilman Rutledge made the suggestion to have a documentary made on the civil war relics we purchased from Ernest Rutledge. Attorney Bowen has some contacts that he will check on to make this documentary for the town.

ROAD AND STREETS

Councilman Wyatt reported no problems.

Sheriff’s Report

Lt. Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.

LIGHTS

Councilwoman Adams reported no problems with any of the lights.

RECREATION

Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached. Randy Wheat suggested we get gym mats for the floors in the gym to prevent further damage to the tile. Councilman Wyatt will check into how much this will cost and report back.

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Nothing to report.

ADJOURMENT

Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Wyatt  made a motion to close the meeting. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
