CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the June meeting. Councilmember Rutledge made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilmember Adams seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the June meeting. Councilmember Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilmember Talley seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Full time employee compensation
Mayor Wyatt postponed until end of meeting.
UPDATES & UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Updated Zoning Map
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the new map. Councilmember Talley made the motion. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.
Amendment to zoning ordinance
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the amendment to the zoning ordinance that will include recreational vehicle parks with special use permit.
Councilmember Talley made a motion to approve. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
SHERIFF’S DEPT
Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for June. The report is attached to minutes.
RECREATION
Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
ROADS AND STREETS
Councilmember Talley reported that Tabernacle Rd. and Valley Lane will need to be cleared of thick, overgrown kudzu. Mayor Wyatt will contact the county for this.
LIGHTS
Nothing to report from Councilmember Adams.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Randy Wheat reports mowing, trash pick-up, general duties, and some signs will need to be replaced.
NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to enter closed executive session. Council member Talley made the motion. Councilmember Keese seconded. Mayor Wyatt asked for everyone to exit until notified.
Councilmember Talley made the motion to come out of executive session. Councilmember Keese seconded. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to enter our regular session. Councilmember Keese made the motion. Councilmember Rutledge seconded.
Mayor Wyatt asked for the motion to increase full-time employee wages. Councilmember Talley made the motion. Councilmember Keese seconded. All in favor. The motion passed. Councilmember Talley added that Mayor Wyatt will announce the increase of wages to full-time employees after meeting.
