REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MINUTES

PRESENT:           Nathan Wyatt, Mayor

         Brant Talley, Councilmember

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

INVOCATION

Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the September meeting. Council Member Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Council Member Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the September meeting. Council Member Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Council Member Talley seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Rezoning application for David M. Reed

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to open voting. Council Member Adams made the motion. Council Member Rutledge seconded. Motion passed 3:1. Councilman Keese opposed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve rezoning for parcel 040-128 from C-2 to R-3. Council Member Adams made the motion to approve rezoning. Council Member Talley seconded. Motion passed 3:1. Council Member Keese opposed.

Amend the Agenda to include Air Conditioner installation bids for Community Center

Mayor Wyatt asked to amend the agenda to include an air conditioner unit to be installed in the community center facility. Council Member Talley made the motion. Council Member Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.

The first sealed bid opened from Gilbert Heating and Air is $18,050.00. The second sealed bid from Cherokee Mechanical is $19,900.00. The third company, Turner Heating and Air, withdrew bidding before submission.

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve one of the submitted bids. Council Member Talley made the motion to approve the quote from Cherokee Mechanical. Council Member Adams seconded. Motion passed 3:1. Councilman Keese recused himself of voting due to conflict of interest with Cherokee Mechanical. Gilbert Heating and Air was not selected because the quote did not include wiring cost. SPLOST funds will be used to pay for installation.

SHERIFF’S DEPT

Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for September. The report is attached to the minutes.

 

RECREATION

Council Member Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

ROADS AND STREETS

Nothing to report.

LIGHTS

Nothing to report.

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Council Member Talley reports on general maintenance and duties including storm debris removal. Mayor Wyatt reports hole patched at Resaca Convenience store. Fall Festival preparation will begin this week.

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting. Council member Keese made the motion to close the meeting. Council Member Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
