CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the August meeting Councilman Barton made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from August meeting. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Reduce 2017 Trash Service Fees –
Councilman Wyatt made the recommendation that we reduce the yearly trash service fee from $75.00 to $50.00 in the upcoming year. Councilwoman Adams made the motion to reduce the fee to 50.00 per year. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed
UPDATES
Public Safety Luncheon –
Councilman Barton gave an update on the luncheon held Saturday. He said we had a lower turn out than expected but overall it turned out good.
Fall Festival –
Several options for the festival was discussed such as food, entertainment, games, vendors. Due to time constraints at this meeting t was decided to set a work session would be set for Wednesday September 21st.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
ROAD AND STREETS
Councilman Wyatt gave a report on Streets. Sidewalk is fixed.
Sheriff’s Report
Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.
LIGHTS
NGEMC is going to replace all our outdated lights with LED lights.
RECREATION
Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Councilman Barton advised we need to make sure all the equipment is serviced and up to date. Councilman Wyatt mentioned that we may need to get a new weed eater before the next mowing season.
ADJOURMENT
Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Rutledge made a motion to close the meeting. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
